PROJECT CIRCUMSTANCES - EME 6415 (Development of Computer Courseware) - The goal was to introduce students to a product like Captivate to enable the creation of tutorials. The tutorial was to include audio and visual step by step instructions on some computer based process. While Captivate has the potential for strong interactivity, I created a simple page turner and spent more time adding audio to most of the pages. PROJECT SUMMARY The tutorial teaches a user the basics of cutting, pasting, cropping, transparency, adding shadows and image positioning in Microsoft Word 2003. The user is shown how to begin with an image off of the internet that is then edited for attractive usage in Word. TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience would be any user from pre-teen age and upwards. The nature of adding Audio to Captivate tutorials allows for a user friendly conversational style that would appeal to any age group. NOTES The goal was not to explore all the features of Captivate. For myself, as well as other students, this was my first ever usage of Captivate. The above tutorial is an illustration of Captivates most basic feature, nothing more.
