PROJECT CIRCUMSTANCES
- EME 6415 (Development of Computer Courseware)
- The goal was to create a simple game (not computer based) to introduce students to the essential concepts of "gaming" and their value as instructional components.

PROJECT SUMMARY
The game is played between 2-3 players over a world map spread on the floor. Each player represents a spy hiding in some country of the world. Based on a spin of the dice, players are allowed to ask a certain number of questions to find the enemy spy. Global Spy also allows players to choose between "Country Cards" and "Currency Cards". If a Currency Card is selected players must race to find the country that matches the image of the the currency.
Players collect/purchase countries, wage war, and use money strategically.

The winner is the first player to collect all the countries in a continent or end with the most countries.

OBJECTIVE
The power of Global Spy lies in the fact that students are forced to
(1) continually gaze at and search the world globe in an attempt to find their opponent.
(2) players are forced to verbalize questions and queries about geographic/political features of the world.
(3) students can not play Global Spy without processing significant amounts of world geography.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Global Spy may be played by persons of any age group. The rules present suggestions to increase difficulty by lowering question choices asked by the "finding spy." The primary target user would be middle or high school age students.
