Above are a few examples of diagrams or graphics created by the author.

While not necessarily an example of instructional design, one of the competencies of instructional designers, and certain practitioners of online education, is the ability to communicate well. Diagrams are an essential means of communicting large amounts of information in small amounts of space. The following three diagrams illustrate the authors ability to create meaningful and visually pleasant diagrams.

Three of the above diagrams were created voluntarily by the author as an attempt to communicate cooperative learning concepts to other students during an online class. The concept map about Michael Moore's theory of distance education was an actual assignment for Dr. A. Jeong's Intro to Distance Learning class in the Spring of 2007.

All of the graphics, shapes, layouts and ideas were the authors. [The "string beans" in the Think-Pair-Share diagram were taken from Microsoft Clipart sources.] The larger online debate diagram was later re-used in a final course project covering online debates.

The concept map was, as stated previously, simply an assignment to take one prominent theory of distance education and communicate it by means of a concept map. Concept maps and mind maps tend to either frustrate or intrigue students depending on their learning style. CMap Tools was used to create the concept map.

All graphics are seen in their final format. use.
