The website you are currently looking at contains a digital portfolio of products created between Spring 2007 and Summer of 2008. During this period of time I completed a masters degree at Florida State University in Instructional Systems with an emphasis in Open and Distance Learning. The degree culminates with the construction of a portfolio designed to demonstrate that I have developed the kinds of competencies that FSU faculty feel practitioners of instructional design should possess. A list of those competencies can be seen on this page.

An important aspect of this portfolio is an explanation of my goals as an instructional designer. The Goals segment of the portfolio explains where I came from upon entering the program, where I am interested in going now that I have completed the IS masters, key skills needed for success in the Distance Education world, the skills I feel that I gained as a result of graduate study, and area s for future growth on my part.

The Portfolio proper is arranged in a list of 14 artifact pages. Each page includes screen shots and links to a product that I created and put into the portfolio because of its ability to demonstrate a certain ISD competency. At the bottom of each page is a set of key words that visitors can run their mouse over so as to read the following information: project overview, the context the product was created within, the stipulated conditions for the project, the scope and nature of the product, as well as my role in relation to the the overall product.

At the top of each page is a recorded audio segment wherein I describe what instructional design competencies I believe the product exemplifies. On certain pages the audio segment may also point out certain details about the product that are not found in the "mouse over" features at the bottom.

It is important to note that the portfolio does not contain an exhaustive list of all of the products I created during my graduate work. There were several other items that could have been selected. Below is an overview of the products the reader will find in the latest edition of the portfolio. Next to each item I have listed one of six competency ares that the item exemplifies:

The portfolio also includes a Program of Study. This is a list, ordered by date, of all the courses that were taken to complete the masters degree in Instructional Systems. Along with each course is listed the instructing professor, and the assigned texts for the course.

Last but not least, the portfolio also includes a Resume (cv) that is up to date.

It is my sincere hope that this portfolio demonstrates my capacities as an instructional designer, my posession of competencies requisite for the Distance Education field, and the skills I bring to the table should we find ourselves working together in the future.
